Photograph your recipes in a cookbook.
I love a good cookbook with a personal story. Simple recipes photographed in a delightful yet straightforward way. Something every budding food photographer should be able to achieve with the proper guidance on how to photograph and style food. Interior, garden and beautiful peonies photos’ for example to illustrate the book, especially with a tactile linen spine and appealing tones, the book itself should shout out from the shelves to be bought.
Creating a cookbook with your family recipes to have as a keepsake for the generations to come or going on the journey of either getting published or self-published can be a dream. But with time, planning and support, you can achieve this. If you want to take control of your book by using your own photos but feel there is more to learn about photography and styling, then an opportunity of staying in residence near Kingscliff, Australia, for either one or two weeks could be the dream you are waiting for.
As a professional food photographer and food mentor, I often work in 5 or 10-day photo shoot sessions to get the recipes photographed for cookbooks.
Ideally, you would immerse yourself in the equipment and guidance needed to complete it. Under those circumstances designing the lay-out and finishing the imagery of your dream book will certainly come to fruition.
